Ofsted Reports and Results

Outwood Grange Academy always puts students at the heart of everything we do and we are extremely proud of our ethos; having such success substantiated and championed by Ofsted at numerous intervals over the past 10 years gives cause for celebration.

In 2006, the Academy, including the Sixth Form, was graded 1 – ‘outstanding’ – in all categories and then in 2012, under the governments ‘tougher’ inspection framework, all areas were once again deemed to be ‘outstanding’.

Ofsted Report February 2012

Overall effectiveness of the Academy Grade 1 ‘Outstanding’
Achievement of pupils Grade 1 ‘Outstanding’
Behaviour and safety of pupils Grade 1 ‘Outstanding’
Quality of Teaching Grade 1 ‘Outstanding’
Leadership and management Grade 1 ‘Outstanding’

Ofsted championed the success and achievement of all students that attend Outwood Grange, including the Post 16 Centre, when they reported, “students’ achievement is outstanding”. However, we are exceptionally proud of the statement that was made in the report about Post 16:

“The sixth form is outstanding. Students of all abilities are admitted and all groups make rapid progress through courses well suited to their needs and aspirations.”

Supporting students in achieving their aspirations is the drive for Post 16 at Outwood Grange and, through effective support and personalised advice and guidance, we provide students with the platform they need for their future. Our moral purpose of improving the life chances of students was an aspect that Ofsted noted in their report:

“The overwhelming majority of students are successful in going on to education, employment or training after they leave the academy.”

Our journey to become a world-class institution continues and you can be assured that the quality of teaching, learning, support and safety at the Outwood Grange Post 16 Centre is one of the best on a local, regional and national scale.
