Welcome

Welcome Message from Director of P16 for Website

We are delighted with the results our students have achieved this year which is testament to the incredible hard work of all our students, their families and the staff at Outwood Grange Academy Post-16.

Summer 2024 saw us achieve A*-C results at 64.9%. These results ensured 62.6% of our students progressed onto higher education, with 32.8% of students being offered a place at Russell Group universities. A further 17.8% of our students were successful in gaining an Apprenticeship.  The remaining students have either continued their education elsewhere or gained full time employment.

We are incredibly proud of the class of 2024 and wish them every success for all their future endeavours.

The vision for all schools across the Outwood Grange Family of Schools is ‘Students First: Raising standards. Transforming lives.’

This vision encompasses what Post 16 at Outwood Grange Academy is all about. The purpose of Post 16 education is to provide students with the knowledge, support and life-skills needed to achieve their Post 18 aspirations. The time spent in Post 16 is where students formulate their life-long ambitions and therefore the teaching and learning, personalised support and experiences we offer students is first class and ensures every student, regardless of background and starting point, enjoys an exceptional education, possessing real life chances by the time they leave Post 16.

We understand that the transition into Post 16 is a significant step for many young people. It is the realisation and specialisation of long term goals. At Outwood Grange Academy, we are here to support our students on this journey.

We offer a broad curriculum  encompassing a range of A level and BTEC qualifications, each supported by an expert teaching team that enables students to get onto the pathway to achieve their aspirations. Our broad curriculum enables each of our students to pursue diverse and fulfilling Post 18 options, with students going into top universities and onto highly competitive apprenticeship programmes.

We are a highly dedicated team of professionals, putting our young people at the heart of all that we do. We are supported by our brilliant learning manager, a non teaching member of staff, dedicated to the pastoral care of students who acts as a first point of contact for all parents/carers and students regarding their wellbeing and their progress.  Our dedicated pastoral care extends to our guidance mentor team with each student being assigned to a guidance group, this is similar to a form group where students are exposed to a range of extra-curricular activities extending beyond the curriculum pathway, and supporting students to achieve their future career goals.

Ofsted championed the success and achievement of all students that attend Outwood Grange, including the Post 16 Centre, when they reported, “Students’ Achievement, Personal Development and Pastoral offer is Good”.

Supporting students in achieving their aspirations is the drive for Post 16 at Outwood Grange and through effective support and personalised advice and guidance, we provide students with the platform they need for their future .

Our journey to become a world-class institution continues, the quality of teaching, learning, support and safety at the Outwood Grange Post 16 Centre is one of the best on a local, regional and national scale.  At Outwood Grange Academy Post 16, we are incredibly proud of the quality of the teaching and learning our young people receive. We are fully committed to inclusivity in our Post 16 and every student is given the means to succeed. Each and every member of our Post 16 community, both staff and students, are incredibly proud of the work we do here and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss an application with you.

We hope that you take up this opportunity to shape your future with us at Outwood Grange Academy Post 16.
