Outwood Grange Academy boasts some excellent facilities that our sixth form students enjoy including a purpose built Post 16 centre, enabling students to get the best out of their studies and the most enjoyment from school. This includes a computer suite and full Post 16 library.
Academic Study Areas
Facilities include a dedicated and purpose-built Sixth Form Centre which includes our computer suite, dedicated Post 16 cafeteria and study spaces. Sixth form students also make use of main school facilities i.e. subject-specific facilities, science laboratories, engineering suites and a dedicated arts centre. A variety of specific sixth form study areas support students’ academic excellence during the day. The dedicated learning centre within the Post 16 Centre is where students can work in a silent environment and access A-level resources, and is open from 8.00am-5.00pm. In addition, post 16 students can make full use of the school library.
Our school library houses a range of relevant subject texts - linked to both curricular and extracurricular reading. We regularly review our library provision to ensure students have access to the most up to date information and reading. Our library also includes a full computer suite for students to make use of - as well as being spacious enough to allow for breakout spaces for student study.
Blended Learning Facilities
We have fully integrated the use of Google education facilities into our academic provision. All students will be added to subject specific google classrooms - which will be used by their teachers to share lesson resources, extra reading and other resources. Our provision of blended learning is a key element of our Post 16 provision - ensuring students are able to regularly revisit previously learnt content and constantly expand their knowledge. Teachers typically use their subject google classroom as the primary means of communication outside of timetabled lessons and this complements the use of the platform lesson work.
Other Facilities
We have a newly built sports hall and full size 3G all weather pitch. These facilities are accessible to students for extracurricular activities and will need booking via the PE department. In addition, in our recently built arts centre, students will have access to drama suites, music practice and performance rooms and facilities. These spaces can be accessed via the performing arts departments.
Post 16 students at Outwood Grange Academy benefit from their own cafeteria and study spaces which are planned for their exclusive use. As well as this, students have access to additional study spaces across the post 16 areas.
